Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault caused the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
